Meyer's Castle is a world class historic landmark set on a hill surrounded by beautiful manicured rolling gardens. The wonderful blend of polished elegance in a natural setting offers an exciting scenic departure from ordinary alternatives. Located only 35 minutes away from downtown Chicago, the estate's smallest room can host a minimum of 30 guests, while the largest ballroom can accommodate up to 325.

How We Can Help
THE ESTATE
Meyer's Castle is an example of Jacobethan Revival Architecture that was built between 1929 and 1931 by architect Cosbey Bemard Sr. as a replica of a Scottish castle and as the private residence of Joseph Meyer, a famous botanist, writer, illustrator, publisher, and supplier of pharmaceutical-grade herbs. He had seen the exact same castle once while traveling in Europe and fell in love with it to the point that he had to recreate his own in the United States. Its location in the forested area on top of the highest point of Lake County was perfect for continuing his practice of Herbology. When it was completed in 1931, it became the largest and most lavish home in the surrounding Calumet region.
